Get ready to play ball!
The time has come to start signing up for the 2013 summer baseball league.
This is a long mail, please read it completely and thoroughly.
The summer season will kickoff with optional weekly Spring Training in May (field time for ground balls, batting practice, and scrimmage games) starting on Sunday May 5th from 6-8pm. New players are highly encouraged to attend so coaches can draft them appropriately.
The official summer season will start the week of June 2nd and will consist of a 10 game schedule (taking off July 7th and 8th for the 4th of July weekend) and playoff tournament.
During the regular season, each team will play once a week at either 4:30pm or 7:30pm on Sunday or 7:30pm on Monday.
To lock in your rates from last season, send in your check this week:
$150 for returning players
$160 for new players to cover jersey cost.
Please make checks payable to SPSC Baseball.
The BCBL board is meeting this week, and rates might be voted to increase slightly due to decreased funding from Northrop Grumman for the various recreation clubs.
Mail your checks to our President at:
David Pidancet

Los Angeles, CA 90066
Sign-ups are on a first come first serve basis and I anticipate a full league this year.
Information we need from you:
- Sign the code of conduct and liability forms and send them in with your check
- If you played previously and want to be a free agent this year (if not, then you don’t need to let us know)
- What positions you play/prefer to play
- The highest level of baseball you’ve played and how long it has been since you've played at that level.
- Town you live in (this can help us lobby the cities for field time)
- If you are an NG employee, we need your badge number
Please note that it is in your best interest to send in your checks as soon as possible to secure and guarantee your spot in the league (and guarantee your spot on the same team); otherwise you may lose it to someone else.
If you are intending to play this summer, please reply and let me know so that I can track to get a feel for how many players we will have this year. However, your spot is only reserved once we receive your check.
Also, if anyone is interested in being a team manager, please let me know (of course you can still play as a manager).
Please don't hesitate to ask any question should you have any.
