Despite jumping out to an early lead against the Ironheads, the Bears quickly found themselves down 7-3 after Will "Ken doll" Ellis hit a 534 foot* home-run off of Rick "My Humps" Valencia. Center fielder Uncle Rico Walker didn't even attempt to give chase, instead throwing his hands down in a show of disgust.
With pitcher of the year Gary Scott on the mound, the Bears' situation seemed dire indeed. However, the Bears were able to chip away at the lead run-by-run, and eventually tied the game in the top of the 6th inning. Uncle Rico Walker led off the top of the 7th with a bloop single, stole second, and then advanced to third on the best and only bunt of the season by Ben Balding. Walker would then score on a short fly to left, giving the Bears a one-run lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning.
Overcoming a minor case of whiplash caused by the Ellis moonshot, Valencia struck out the side in the bottom of the seventh to finish off the complete game win.
* - Officially estimated distance. The production building that Ellis hit was seen crying after the game.

In the following championship game against the Barracudas, the Bears jumped out to an early lead, showing why they were the league's highest scoring team. The Bears would go on to score in every inning except for the third.
In the bottom of the first inning, Waldo Centeno was thrown out trying to steal second on a highly questionable call. From there on out, Ryan "gray bush" Speelman was excellent on the mound, giving up only one run over five innings. Bill "hope and change" Kardine then came in to close the game after pounding a beer to calm his nerves.
Thus, the 2012 BCBL summer season came to a close after a long day of playoff baseball. Asked if he was looking forward to next season, Bill Kardine responded, "I just can't wait to get home and finish '50 Shades of Grey.'"
Other notes: Jim-James Plumb-Starnes was sidelined with a severe hamstring injury that he suffered the week before, although no one would have known as he attempted to scale the foul-ball netting in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jason Badgley was also absent from the lineup on Saturday, instead using the time to catch up on the new hit TLC TV show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo".
